Full Moon in Sagittarius: The Courage to Be Free
Watch or listen to the forecast now. Plus, an astro-homage to Tina Turner.
Welcome to the Full Moon in Sagittarius.
The theme is The Courage to Be Free!
I am very happy to have had the opportunity to appear on Irlianna Samsara’s astrology podcast, StarSound Speaks, to discuss the Full Moon influences AND to pay respects to the indomitable, irreplaceable, goddess powerhouse, Ms. Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock and Roll.
I was deeply impacted last week upon the news that Tina had passed on May 24th. And, I knew immediately I wanted to do something to pay tribute to her. While I worked on an article in my mind, it occurred to me that her chart (born November 26, 1939 with Sun, Venus, Mercury in Sagittarius! Moon in Gemini! Leo Rising!) perfectly exemplifies the BRAVERY and optimistic power of this lunation.
Plot Twist!
When Irlianna first invited me to speak on this full moon, we were planning to talk about my years in India (Sagittarius rules international travel, philosophy, spiritual quests) and my books (Sag also rules publishing and travel writing). And that morning, Tina’s spirit flew in with wild, flying colors, like her glorious smile and the fabulous and sexy costumes she donned during her career. When I pondered that Sagittarius also rules the hips and upper legs – of which Tina was indisputably known for (hot legs!), well, it was clear she was speaking to me from beyond the beyond. I knew how I wanted to honor her spirit.
Tina’s bravery combined with Buddhist practices saved her life during her darkest hour. The Buddhists consider the time immediately after death to be the bardo, approximately 49 days after the body passes. It is a sacred “in between” time, and one in which practitioners dedicate merits and metta (loving-kindness) to the soul to ensure a good crossing over, or return to life, if that is the soul’s destiny.
Thus, I ask you to spend a little time with Tina today. Watch or listen to this podcast on the Full Moon in homage to this Queen.

Keep on rollin’, everyone!
Erin
