I absolutely relate to the statement that failure in relationships is a lack of understanding of the role others play in our life. When I have challenges in relationships, I always try to look first into 'Did I learn everything I was supposed to learn here?' and if not, I will try not to hold anything against the other person. Not always easy but so worth it! I also fully relate to the quote you mention- what I have always been saying is that we can relate to any person if we spend quality time with them. I think it's a great time of the year to reimagine our relationships, let others be others, and understand their unique story and point of view. As usual, lot's of beauty and wisdom! Thank you, Erin!

Thank you for this, Natalia. A good reminder to see if there's anything "left" between self and other. It also requires, as you well know, the ability to "hold the tension" without making a drastic move one way or another. Sometimes, it takes decades!

And thank you for the reflection that it's a beautiful time of year for this re-image-in work. I think so, too. Why not?

This is totally not what I expected to hear from you this morning and is of course perfect. I have been resisting the routine expected communications around this time of year and now find myself much more interested in being in touch with family and neighbors. I appreciate the time and thought put into this and really all your posts!

Hahah! If you still feel it's a drag and draining, then it is definitely NOT for you. My main point was to re-imagine our relationships as if in a Dream, and discovering new ways of relating when and if those individuals keep popping up on our personal screen! Some folks have to do much less than what is considered "normal" and you can trust your gut to show you the way. Whatever happens, be well and enjoy less or more!
