Hi Erin, I am glad you're ok! Also, I appreciated this exploration. The part about elevating criticizing to complaining was interesting. Could you give an example of how that might work? So, if the criticisms start with you are always...., how might that be reframed as a complaint? Thanks :).
Great question, Ellen, and I'm happy to clarify! Complaining looks like, "I'm really tired. I am so tired of doing laundry." Or, "I wish I could go on vacation." Or, "I hate having the TV on while we're eating dinner."
These are very simple examples; you'll note that the main thing is the focus on how you feel (the I statements) versus what the other person appears to be doing or not doing.
This was wonderful Erin! Thank you so much for sharing! The timing was perfect as I have been feeling the need and desire to have a more structured weekly schedule, discipline to follow it, and the desire to feel the sense of empowerment, pride, gratification, and a general feeling of kicking ass that comes with being focused and crossing off those (sometimes dreaded) things to-do on my List! Thank you for the inspiration and I’m energized now to go with the Virgo Flow! Still definitely going to get in my Aquarius Play Time! All work and no play…
Great episode, Erin! Love the bit on complaining. I am the type that does not d, bo that enough. But then it builds up and eventually it all explodes... 😂. Letting steam off is much better and it's better for the other person to actually know how you feel. How would they know otherwise?
I am grateful also for mentioning me and The Human Advantage! I greatly appreciate it! 😍
Erin, this update is so spot on for me. I HAVE been feeling the overwhelm of caring for SELF, “castle” and meeting two work deadlines. I HAVE committed to doing the needful. On Monday I recommitted to the sleep schedule that is best for me and am starting a food plan with structure as I realize I need that to stay disciplined. I love the reminder to approach needful change as a sadhana and to continue to cultivate practices that strengthen our Humanity! Thanks for not skipping this update. I needed to hear it!
It helps me to hear you, too, Marisa! Thank you for this feedback. I'm glad I didn't skip it, either.
I sure hear you on sleep and food schedules. Sure, we get *some* wiggle room, but not a lot sometimes. It's good to know it's a spiritual sadhana. Wishing you love from my castle to yours. xo

Does that clear it up?
100%. Thanks :)!

Exactly! We otherwise stay stuck in assuming the other persons are psychic, which is a holdover from early infanthood!
And, yes, these "I feel" statements in complaining require us to be vulnerable, (which also builds intimacy)!
Thx for tuning in, Natalia!
