This is so well written, Erin! Staying aware and trusting myself has been my greatest ally during these times. There is so much information here within. I really appreciate the time it took and you putting this piece together (heart)!
What a text! I am so grateful for this and for you Erin!
I have read it just now, and I will come back to it again as I want to absorb all the deep medicine it has in it. What you have done here is really amazing! You have taken so many perspectives and paths and looked at "abuse" with an eagle-eye vision.... "As light increases so does the dark..."
Thank you, Sage. I appreciate your reading it so thoroughly. May it continue to reveal truth and consciousness, innocence and healing. Warmest wishes, Erin
Erin, one thing I love about what you've written is how you point the needle right back to the inner. Lots is coming up in these times and we're all going to have our reactions to what we see. What are they telling us? How can we work with them? Are we seeing everything? Are we missing some things? Etc. Thank you for sharing this.
Agreed, Ellen. We are pointed back to ourselves, to awareness. There is no one answer here. Interpretation is subjective. To me, embodiment is vital. Thank you for reading and commenting!
Your words are clear, non judgmental and invites the mind to investigate embedded belief systems in the body mind that perpetuate personal and collective trauma and suffering.
Personally, I remember, at a young age, touch, certain looks, suggestions, body felt energies that made me 'squirm inside' and not being able to speak about these energies, feelings and sensations, I closed down, froze. The impact of this has affected many different areas of my self expression. Shame is a murky shadowed cloak, that muffles a sense of aliveness, if not felt and brought out into the light.
You got it, Anne. I agree, "Shame is a murky, shadowed cloak that muffles a sense of aliveness, if not felt and brought out into the light." I truly appreciate your readership, and your commenting.
Thank you for writing this and detailing the nuances of every point. It’s true that the violation often happens in plain view and often because the responsible adults present numb out rather than responding from the gut. The children don’t stand a chance to defend themselves because of the power balance and fear of survival involved, so their actual essence or soul is violated and often permanently damaged. I haven’t seen the Twitter video- I’m still so deeply shocked and allowing the shockwaves that I haven’t come to a response from the clarity you have. So glad you could speak so clearly on this. Thank you,
Thank you, Mira. I know the shockwaves are a lot. I'm glad you are tending to self and pacing yourself. And yes, the nuances are many. Appreciate your comments and readership!
Erin , thank you so much for this important and well written piece. I am grateful for the reminder of the incredible knowingness of our physical bodies in the moment, beyond what our minds know, rationalize or deny.
Great piece, Erin. I'm sharing it on the place where you are on-a-writerly-break and also with a friend from a community where we are currently mourning a loss of innocence through discoveries about the original founder (L'Arche and Jean Vanier). We truly need to see everything at the moment and hold still with it...
Dear Helen, first, thank you for your support and shares. I truly appreciate it.
Second, thank you for staying with the process regarding L'Arche and Jean Vanier. Anything can happen at anytime. Awareness is key. The teachings are not the teacher. It's the same as art....can you imagine us throwing out vital works of art and literature because of human behaviors?
I certainly find it very hard to reject all Kevin Spacey's films because of his personal behaviour, for example. His acting talent and stage presence is extraordinary.
And through L'Arche I got to know so many amazing people, with and without "learning disabilities", and learned so much about community and human nature. I can feel numb when I hear of what has been uncovered, brought to light, about Vanier, and at the same time grateful for his contribution to humanity more generally. What I do wonder about is how healthy what he founded can be long-term, particularly as I have also clearly experienced their shadow side. Imperfection - a work in progress - finding our way through... Staying with it, as you say.
I'm happy to share that this piece has been picked up by The Daily Clout (dailyclout.io), representing free speech and free press. https://dailyclout.io/on-shadow-pluto-in-aquarius-and-violation-of-boundaries/

Sincerely appreciate your readership and very happy you found some solid reflection here. Yes, awareness and embodiment are key! Love, Erin
